Dark Testament: Honoring Black Writers with AR and Immersive Displays

CaptivatAR in collaboration with Trivium Interactive developed an augmented reality (AR) experience by honoring sixteen influential Black writers’ portraits created by several contemporary artists. They are presented on two sides of the American Writers Museum’s hallway, as part of the Dark Testament exhibition. CaptivatAR and Trivium helped to add another layer to the experience by bringing augmented reality to the visitors.

Along with the augmented reality experience is an immersive, stunning display presented on a 4-screen monitor arrangement. It highlights and honors Black American writers from the end of the Civil War through the Civil Rights Movement to help visitors better understand and explore racial injustice in The United States.
